Hikari Kaneko was born on February 29, 1992 in Düsseldorf, Germany. She is the daughter of a Japanese business man and a German business woman, who she does not like to talk about, or even acknowledge, as she was largely ignored by her patent during her entire childhood and mistook giving her what she wanted for parental love and guidance. Instead is was her Uncle Daniel Wolters, who she sees as responsible for her being who she is today, even if he lived in Cologne. This meant that Hikari had to become independently minded at a very young age.

Hikari considers both German and Japanese to be her native languages, with her Japanese having a slight Kobe accent, while her German has a mixed Ruhrpott-Düsseldorf accent. She visited the Gymnasium, secondary school, and has an Abitur with a grade average of 1.2, which she finished in Summer 2010.

During the Lulin Therianthropic Change Event, she was transformed into a Sergals, a fictional species she heavily identified with, and she still gets angry that her parent didn't even notice for half a year.

During her childhood, she regularly visited her Uncle David during on vacation and, as David owned a gay bar in the Cologne Uni-Viertel, got introduced into the LGBTQ+ scene early. He would also take her to various electronic music and classic hip hop concerts and festivals in Cologne, which had a clear impact on her music taste, while she discovered punk music on her own through The Toten Hosen, a punk group from Düsseldorf.

In October 2002, two months into her secondary school, she met Hakura, who had hast moved to Düsseldorf from Osaka, after her father was transfered to the German branch of his company, to work under Hikari's father. Being fluently bilingual Hikari offered to help Hakura along and a friendship developed, with Hikari giving Hakura an additional free space from her strict parents. This would later lead to them falling in love with each other and various experiments in that direction. Hikari has become extremely protective of Hakura over time.

After finishing school at around 18, Hikari moved everything she wanted to keep, and Hakura, into a beat up old Opel and moved to Cologne to her Uncle, to get away from her parents, who, again, did not notice for half a year.

Within a short time, she was able to find a cheap apartment for herself and her girlfriend next to the Töchter Bathomets, who turned out to be nice and fun neighbors and inducted them into the fetish scene.

With a long interest in music and DJing and having played DJ for many of her class's parties, Hikari managed to establish herself as an electronic music and hip hop DJ, with a residency in a Cologne club run by the Tochter of Bathomet. While she had two international underground club hits, she is mostly locally known. Something that amuses her to no end however is that she has surprising success in Japan as DJ Kaneko. In addition, she acts as hip hop DJ for Hakura, who also has some moderate success in Japan as a hip hop artist and sometimes MC.

In 2013, she and Hakura took in Hina as a pet.

Ever since meeting up with the Töchter Bathomets and getting introduced into the rubber fetish scene, Hikari has moved towards a singular type of outfit she wears 24/7. This consists of a sleeveless latex leotard with a high neck and high hip cut outs, thigh high latex stockings and opera-length latex gloves, either with of without fingers.

In addition, she generally wears a pair of short tail tube, one with gay pride colours and one with rubber pride colours. If she is in Japan, she also wears a tail tube with German flag colours.

The style of these items may change with her mood and she might add a tech-wear jacket on top if she feels 'cyberpunky'.
